...the rest of the story.

This afternoon, we were under a thunderstorm warning for a few hours. Not too long after lunchtime we had a couple of visitors. Grandma Gafford and Great Grandma Cox had been out "doing some running" as Grandma Cox says. They had a few treats for Emily, so they dropped them by. While they were here, the city tornado sirens started whailing. We turned on the tv to check and see if there was really a tornado, but all they were telling us was thunderstorms. Grandma and Grandma didn't stay long since the storm was approaching quickly. The sky was almost black. Mom dropped Grandma Cox off at home and headed on to her own house. In the meantime, Emily made me some frappucinos...that were VERY yummy...with her tea set. She is going to be a barista someday. The power surged many times, but somehow we managed to keep ours. Everyone else in our extended family lost theirs.

Finally the storm ended, or so we thought. I got a call from Nate not too long after the rain ended telling me that a large tree had fallen on my Grandparents house. Grandma Cox was the only one there at the time, but she was okay. A family from our church lives two doors down, and they went over to make sure everyone was okay. We went over to see the extent of the damage and this is what we found.









The tree spanned across the entire house from front to back. It was an unbelievable sight. There are many hands up there right now cutting as much of the tree up as they possibly can. It looks like there is much to do in coming days. Unfortunaely, there is more rain in the forecast. Pray for sunshine!
