Lauren's hospital portrait
We had pictures taken at the hospital this morning. I was surprised to see the photographer was someone I go way back with. Thanks for the beautiful pictures, Allison! We'll be home tonight. When we get settled in, we'll post more pictures from Lauren's first days. Thanks for all the comments! It's been fun to read them!

Happy Mother's Day to me!
Emily is sitting on part of my Mother's Day gift. A whole 4 foot section of counterspace for my kitchen! It may not seem like much to some of you, but for me it's HUGE! I have jumbled up sections of countertop to work with, but the largest has been 2 1/2 feet or so. I seriously don't know what I'm going to do with all this space. It's great! In addition to the counterspace is a cabinet and our roll-away dishwasher that is now going to be stationary. At this point the dishwasher is out of commission until more hours are added to our days for Nate to find time to get back under the house to sweat the copper for the water line. He was under the house all weekend long trying to finish the project for me...in addition to re-plumbing the main lines under the house since they happened to go uphill and not down. All that while working a full time job, taking Master's classes, in Kokomo..no less, and anticipating the arrival of his 2nd born any day now. He's awesome! So, on to news of any progress. Last night while washing dishes in the sink, I started having these shooting back pains. It was unbelievable. My lower back and legs would be struck with these lighting-like pains that seriously made me want to fall over. Nate and Matt (his little bro) were in the living room laughing at me, because I could hardly stand up. I finally sat down which helped a little, but there was a lot of prodding from the peanut gallery to stand back up again to get this baby moving. We have an appointment this afternoon. Maybe we'll know something more today!

Week 39

Well, here we are at 39 weeks. We're waiting for something to happen to indicate the start of labor. So far, no contractions. I don't think I'm as big as I was with Emily, but I'm carrying a lot lower. Some say that's because we're having a boy. We're pretty sure the ultrasound was saying it's a girl. If it is a boy, we'll all be surprised. There will be some pink curtains to take down. Emily is showing off her belly in the picture too. She was sticking it out for Daddy while he was taking pictures. She has quite the gut! We will do our best to post progress as it happens. Hopefully that will be soon!

Back to school
My husband is officially a MBA student at Indiana University. We received his acceptance letter this week...and he starts classes next week. It could get interesting with nano coming sometime within his first few weeks of classes, but we're ready. Nothing like jumping right in! He'll be commuting to the Kokomo campus for classes, instead of working online or us all moving to Bloomington. I am very proud of him. Actually all three of his girls are. Emily is already planning to celebrate Daddy's graduation from grad school at Disney World. We'll see!

Hillsong Church's latest self-proclaimed singer
We have a daughter who absolutely loves Hillsongs. I usually have them rolling on iTunes or on a DVD. Emily discovered today that the mic on her keyboard unplugs, so she can sing like Darlene does without being hooked to something. Her latest fave is "His Love" off of the God He Reigns project. If she's not singing, she's dancing. It's awesome. I love to hear her little voice in the car when a song is playing. To hear a 2 year old sing "Blessed are those who dwell in Your house. They are ever praising You" or "One way, Jesus". We can't help but smile. I know God is smiling with us every time she starts singing along. I'm pretty sure she knows how to eat the microphone. That's my girl!
